FNB has announced that customers will now be able to buy smart devices and tech through FNB Connect using the FNB App.
Through the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) FNB Connect, customers can buy devices with 24-month repayment periods.
While FNB Connect launched back in 2015, this marks the first time customers can use the bank’s app to purchase devices.
Users can buy devices across categories such as smartphones, laptops, accessories, TVs, consoles, and wearables.
The app will also highlight deals and specials for customers.
“We are constantly refreshing our solutions to align with the step-change in customers’ needs,” CEO of FNB Retail, Raj Makanjee, said in a statement.
“Our holistic approach to solutioning for customer needs allows our customers to get much more value from banking with us.”
How to buy devices and tech on the FNB App
Customers can now apply for devices after they log into the FNB App.
To apply, users must go to the “Apply Now” button on their home screen. Then, go to “For Me”.
You then need to go to the Connect shop.
Once you’ve accessed the shop, choose a device category or your preferred SIM Plan. Then select “Apply Now”.
You then select your preferred payment date for each month, and the account you would like FNB to debit.
FNB will then provide a quote and contract that you can accept.
Upcoming deals on the app include the iPhone 12, Watch SE, LG 49-inch 4K UHD Smart TV, Garmin Vivoactive 4S Smartwatch, and Samsung A02 smartphone.
